Cleveland.com taps McDonnell to cover business

Sean McDonnell

Sean McDonnell, a reporter at Akron Beacon Journal/Ohio.com, will be leaving to join Cleveland.com to cover business.

The website is the online version of The Plain Dealer newspaper.

He has previously worked on the police beat at Elyria Chronicle-Telegram in Ohio and has freelanced for Cleveland.com. He also founded The Reserve News, along with three other student journalists who attend Cleveland State University.

He has also interned at ideastream, where he worked with the Be Well Health team to help them create stories for TV, radio and digital platforms.

McDonnell has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and promotional communications from Cleveland State University.
