Hilary Burns, the banking, technology and entrepreneurship reporter at the Charlotte Business Journal, is leaving the paper and moving to Boston.
Burns is taking a month-long journalism fellowship in Boston with the GroundTruth Project where she will be reporting on the lack of women in technology leadership roles.
Through GroundTruth’s partnerships with media organizations including WGBH News, NPR, The Atlantic, BostInno and SiliconANGLE, fellows will have the opportunity to publish work with a variety of outlets. All work will also be cultivated on GroundTruth’s website as a multimedia special report.
Burns plans to freelance once the fellowship ends.
She has been at the Charlotte paper in the American City Business Journals chain since May 2015. Before that, she spent 11 months as a reporter for the ACBJ-owned Bizwomen site.
Burns is a Wake Forest University graduate.
