The Danbury News-Times in Connecticut is making some changes to its business section as part of a sweeping renovation to the daily newspaper.
Editor Eric Conrad wrote, “Business coverage will move inside our A section. It will no longer be on a back page (the weather map replaces it). However, staff writer Robert Gold, newly assigned to the business beat, will continue to report full-time on those issues. Our Saturday newspaper will include Business as a regular section front. In the past, The News-Times lacked a full-time business writer and a Saturday Business section front was not guaranteed.”
Conrad also wrote, “We’ve been planning these changes and positioning our staff for them for some time. In recent months, we reorganized our newsroom to cover topics such as commuting, growth/environment and business — topics that fit our busy, vibrant market.”
