Newsday editor in chief Debby Krenek sent out an announcement on Wednesday announcing that the paper will be adding 34 editorial staffers who will produce 2,600 additional content annually, including more business news content.
In her message, Krenek said that some of the changes to the Long Island paper will include “Adding space to our daily business section, with more local, useful information for and about the Long Island business community” and “Introducing a daily e-mailed business newsletter.”
Talking Biz News has an e-mail into business editor Eli Reyes asking whether the business news desk will receive additional staffers, and if so, how many.
Reyes became business editor in 2007. Reyes has been at the paper since 1997, first on the copy desk and then as an assigning editor on the Long Island desk.
