BuzzFeed hires tech/transportation reporter from MarketWatch.com

BuzzFeed San Francisco bureau chief Mat Honan sent out the following staff hire announcement:

Hey all
I’m thrilled to announce that we’ve hired Priya Anand as our new tech and transportation reporter. Priya comes to us from MarketWatch where she was a consumer fraud & cybersecurity reporter. While there she had scoops on the rising number of extortion threats NYC financial firms are facing, how the Scottrade breach included brokerage account numbers and that the SEC plans to sanction firms for lax security even if there’s no evidence of a breach.
We’ve really owned this beat in the past, and with Priya on board I have no doubt that we’ll continue to do so.
She has some things to wrap up, and a cross-country move to plan, so her start date will be in a few weeks. But until then, please welcome Priya to BuzzFeed!
