Robert M. Parker Jr., world-renowned wine critic and publisher of The Wine Advocate, has signed on as a weekly columnist for BusinessWeek, Editor Stephen J. Adler announced today.
“Robert Parker is the world’s foremost authority on wine,” Adler said. “We’re thrilled to offer our readers his smart, consumer-friendly advice.”
“I am very excited about the opportunity to share my passion for the world’s finest wines and wine bargains with the readers of BusinessWeek,” said Parker. “I have always believed no great business can be conducted without eventually serving the proper wine.”
Parker began publishing The Wine Advocate in 1978 as an independent, consumer’s guide to wine. Mr. Parker is also the author of several books about wine including The World’s Greatest Wine Estates, Bordeaux, Wine Buyer’s Guide, and Burgundy. His critically acclaimed work has won numerous awards including England’s Glenfiddich Award, The Wine Guild’s Wine Book of the Year Award, and Germany’s top prize for books on wine and gastronomy, the “Goldene Feder.”
