Robert M. Parker Jr., world-renowned wine critic and publisher of The Wine Advocate, has signed on as a weekly columnist for BusinessWeek, Editor Stephen J. Adler announced today.
â€œWines of the Weekâ€? will run in the Executive Life section of the magazine and will deliver Parkerâ€™s recommendations and descriptive tasting notes along with ratings and pricing information. The column will debut in the June 26 issue, which will be on newsstands June 16.
“Robert Parker is the worldâ€™s foremost authority on wine,” Adler said. “Weâ€™re thrilled to offer our readers his smart, consumer-friendly advice.”

Parker began publishing The Wine Advocate in 1978 as an independent, consumerâ€™s guide to wine. Mr. Parker is also the author of several books about wine including The Worldâ€™s Greatest Wine Estates, Bordeaux, Wine Buyerâ€™s Guide, and Burgundy. His critically acclaimed work has won numerous awards including Englandâ€™s Glenfiddich Award, The Wine Guildâ€™s Wine Book of the Year Award, and Germanyâ€™s top prize for books on wine and gastronomy, the “Goldene Feder.”
