David Staats, the editor that oversees business coverage at the Idaho Statesman, writes about what the paper hopes to accomplish with the launching of its new weekly business magazine, Business Insider.
“We hope you find encouragement, as we do, in the launch of this weekly magazine. It’s been a rough few years for the newspaper industry. We are happy to be able to grow again. While the Treasure Valley’s economy remains weak, perhaps the knowledge shared via this magazine can strengthen it.
“We aim for in-depth coverage. Each week, you’ll find a profile of a Valley business or business person. You’ll also find regular examinations of timely local business issues and trends.
“We want to help you plan. Our New Rules of the Game feature will highlight upcoming changes in official rules and best practices so you know what’s coming beforehand, not afterward.
