As of Monday, Bloomberg TV stopped airing a number of branded shows, including “In The Loop,” “Money Clip,” “Bottom Line,” “Street Smart” and “Taking Stock.”
Everything between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. is now called “Bloomberg Markets.” The thought behind the change is to better serve Bloomberg’s core audience with more market-centric programming and is the start of some experimentation under Claudia Milne, who joined from BBC last year and is head of live TV.
“In the Loop” previously aired from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and was anchored by Betty Liu. “Bottom Line” aired at 2 p.m. and was hosted by Mark Crumpton. “Street Smart” was previously anchored by Trish Regan, who is now at Fox Business Network. “Taking Stock” was anchored by Pimm Fox and aired at 5 p.m.
All of them — except Regan — are still anchoring an hour or more of programming.
In addition, the “Market Makers” show hosted by Stephanie Ruhle and Erik Schatzker moved to 8 a.m. from 10 a.m., and “Bloomberg West” — previously a 60-minute show — is now 30 minutes and airs at 4:30 p.m.
“Bloomberg Surveillance” with Tom Keene and Brendan Greeley remains in its 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. time slot.
The political show “With All Due Respect” airs at 5 p.m.
