Bloomberg News taps Killingsworth to lead Americas editing hub

Silvia Killingsworth

Bloomberg News global executive editor Jackie Simmons and executive editor of digital news Joe Weisenthal sent out the following announcement on Thursday:

We’re thrilled to announce that Silvia Killingsworth will lead the Americas Editing Hub from New York, picking up from the formidable David Gillen, who is taking on a new role as global finance editor after more than five years in the post. Silvia has been a Managing Editor running Top and the web, after joining Businessweek as an editor in 2018. She has a tenured past with enterprise and long-form writing, having been Managing Editor at the New Yorker for seven years. She also has news experience running digital sites at a number of media outlets in New York. In her new role, she’ll expand the Hub to reflect the cross-platform treatment we’re seeking to give our best enterprise, and work alongside the News Desk. In addition, she’ll collaborate with news teams across the Americas, and with counterparts in other regions, to make sure our enterprise edits are polished and impactful.

We expect to post Silvia’s current role on Top and the web shortly.

Please join us in congratulating Silvia in her new role.

Jackie & Joe
