Bloomberg names Collins its Washington bureau chief

Bloomberg has promoted Peggy Collins to the post of Washington bureau chief, reports Politico.

Recently, she served as managing editor.

Collins has been with Bloomberg since 2009 and has previously overseen coverage of endowments as part of a consolidation of teams covering financial news and wealth. She also oversaw the investing team in the U.S., including asset managers and hedge fund coverage.

She also co-hosted a weekly finance show “Tax Tips” on Bloomberg Radio.

Collins has also reported on topics such as retirement savings, tax policy, wealth management and family offices.

She also served as a multimedia editor and channel manager for MSN.com’s first multimedia team and supervised the production of several multimedia stories weekly for MSN’s Money channel. She also reported for the Bergen Record newspaper in New Jersey.

Collins holds a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University.
