Bloomberg Industry hires Carrizosa as video journalist

Macarena Carrizosa

Josh Block, executive producer of videos and podcasts at Bloomberg Industry Group, sent out the following announcement on Thursday:

Please join me in welcoming a new member of the video and podcast team, Macarena Carrizosa. Macarena is joining the team as a video journalist and will produce videos on topics across all INDG news desks.

In December, Macarena completed a M.A. at the Craig Newmark School of Journalism at CUNY. During that time, she produced short videos for Scientific American including this look at what scientists can learn from how bees fly. Prior to graduate school she made documentaries including this short about an 8-year-old street artist in Bushwick, Brooklyn, and this story about her sister, the first Paraguayan athlete to compete in the Half Ironman World Championship.

Macarena is originally from Asunción, Paraguay and began her career there as a project manager at the Center for Information and Resources for Development. In 2014, she relocated to New York City to study filmmaking. She is an active member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

When we return to the office on a daily basis, Macarena will be relocating to the D.C. area and joining us in our Arlington office.

Macarena starts on Tuesday, Feb. 16. Please welcome her to Bloomberg Industry Group.
