Bloomberg hires VanderMey to be venture capital editor

Anne VanderMey

Mark Milian, the technology editor at Bloomberg News overseeing venture capital coverage, sent out the following announcement on Monday:

I’m very pleased to share with you all that Anne VanderMey is joining the Global Technology group in San Francisco as an editor on the Venture Capital team. Anne is currently based in New York as a senior editor at Fortune magazine, where she oversees the front of the book. She has shepherded stories on a wide range of topics, from AT&T’s efforts to retrain workers to the vanguard of young globalist leaders in Europe, China’s influence on Hollywood and a grocery industry trembling at the feet of Jeff Bezos. As a writer, Anne has chronicled the mail-order bride industry and delivered an impassioned defense of leggings after the United Airlines debacle.

Anne will be making plans to move west after closing her last issue of Fortune this month. She starts orientation in New York on April 23 and will hang with the crew at 731 through the end of the week. She’ll be here in the SF bureau by the end of the month.
