Barron’s Group publisher Almar Latour sent out the following announcement on Friday afternoon:

Colleagues,

We’re pleased to share three new key leadership roles at Barron’s.

Lauren Rublin is appointed senior managing editor of Barron’s. In this expanded role, Lauren will serve as Executive Editor Bob Rose’s second-in-command on all fronts, including running Barron’s in his absence. Lauren will continue with her existing duties as editor of the Barron’s Roundtable franchise and other special projects.

Alex Eule and Ben Levisohn are appointed deputy editors of Barron’s. In their expanded roles, Alex and Ben will take greater responsibility for driving daily news coverage. They will work with editors and reporters to ensure Barron’s delivers the rich, insightful and dynamic coverage our members and users demand. Ben will take responsibility for morning coverage and Alex for afternoons. Ben will continue with his existing duties as markets editor, and Alex will continue as technology editor.

Lauren has been a Barron’s reporter or editor for most of her journalism career. In her most recent role as Managing Editor, Roundtables & Special Projects, she has aggressively expanded the Roundtable franchise to new topics, including Silicon Valley, politics and ESG investing, and has worked to bring the Roundtable to the realm of live journalism. Lauren joined Barron’s as a staff writer, reporting cover stories and other features on technology, energy, media and retailing. She wrote The Trader column for eight years. As an editor, she has had stints overseeing various reporting groups and has overseen prominent Barron’s projects such as the Big Money Poll and Best CEOs ranking.

Alex has more than 10 years of experience at Barron’s as a reporter, editor and innovator. Most recently, he oversaw technology coverage in his role as Managing Editor, Disruption. In his first assignment at Barron’s, in 2007, Alex covered insider transactions for what was then known as Barron’s Online. Over his tenure he has written on topics across the spectrum of Barron’s coverage, from technology and disruption, to stocks and financial advisory. He has been a force behind the launch of Barron’s features including advisor profiles, Barron’s Next and newsletters, including the SABEW Award winning Review & Preview.

Ben joined Barron’s in 2012, at first covering emerging markets and then taking over the stocks beat a year later. Steeped in Wall Street knowledge and, in part, drawing on expertise he gained as a stock trader for eight years early in his career, Ben provides savvy, nuanced — and frequent — insights into the forces that move markets. In 2017, he was named Managing Editor, Markets. Prior to joining Barron’s, Ben had stints at The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and BusinessWeek. Before becoming a journalist, in addition to trader, his credits include preschool teacher and, as he puts it, failed musician.

Please join us in congratulating Lauren, Alex and Ben on their new roles.
