Barron’s editor in chief David Cho sent out the following to the staff:
We are excited to announce Lauren Foster is joining Barron’s as a senior writer covering all manner of investing topics and strategies, with a focus on sustainable investing.
Her reporting on companies, philanthropy, wealth management, markets and investing has appeared in the Financial Times, Enterprising Investor, and Barron’s.
Previously, she was a content director at CFA Institute and host of the Take 15 Podcast and YouTube channel. Her ten years at CFA Institute included anchoring live and virtual conferences, moderating panels, and writing. She is the former managing editor of Enterprising Investor and co-lead of CFA Institute’s Women in Investment Management initiative. Before that, Lauren spent nearly a decade on staff at the Financial Times as a reporter and editor based in the New York bureau.
When time allows, Lauren loves extreme adventure travel and portrait photography. Some of her most memorable journeys include trekking 150 km across the Altai mountains in western Mongolia during the annual migration of the Kazakh eagle hunters, paddling a canoe along a tributary of the Amazon in Peru, and watching out for signs of unexploded ordnance in Kabul.
Born in South Africa, Lauren has lived all over the world. She now calls Charlottesville, Virginia, home, and can often be spotted out running, swimming or walking her chocolate lab Jackie Brown.
Please welcome Lauren when she starts Jan. 3.
