Beth Hunt of American City Business Journals has received from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers one of the highest honors, the President’s Award.
The award recognizes her service to SABEW and her commitment to raising the standards of business journalism. She received the award at SABEW’s annual conference in Seattle.
Hunt, along with AP business editor Lisa Gibbs, organized the Seattle conference. Hunt has also been a SABEW board member and also ran its Best in Business award competition.
Hunt has been with Charlotte-based ACBJ for nearly her entire career. She is currently director of editorial recruitment and development.
She previously had been ACBJ’s manager of editorial operations and the editor of the Washington Business Journal and the Austin Business Journal. She also worked at the Orlando Business Journal.
Hunt is a University of Florida graduate.
Previous winners of the award include Gibbs and McClatchy chief economics correspondent Kevin Hall.
