Charlotte-based American City Business Journals plans to start Pittsburgh Inno next month to cover entrepreneurs and innovators in the region.

Pittsburgh Business Times publisher Evan Rosenberg writes, “Pittsburgh is the 20th market launched by American Inno, a division of the Pittsburgh Business Times’ parent company, American City Business Journals. Inno is a long-established brand founded in Boston in 2009 and acquired by ACBJ in 2012.

“Pittsburgh Inno aims to help strengthen the region’s innovation ecosystem through a robust platform that includes a twice-weekly newsletter, called The Beat, featuring authoritative, insightful and original editorial coverage as well as engaging social media, highly interactive events and meetups, and a dedicated website that houses all Inno content along with directories, data and other innovation resources.

“While the primary focus is the Pittsburgh region, we’ll be able to cull intelligence and context from the entire American Inno network.

“On Pittsburgh Inno, you’ll find longer looks into the trends and topics that are impacting and influencing the region’s reputation as an emerging tech hub. Our team of veteran reporters will provide the content, led by our technology and Inno reporter Nate Doughty.
