WSJ names Cook senior breaking news editor

Lynn Cook

Lynn Cook has been named senior breaking news editor for business, finance and economics at The Wall Street Journal.

She previously was the management and careers bureau chief and deputy Texas bureau chief, based in Houston, where she reported and edited energy coverage as well as news out of the region. She joined the Journal in 2013 after stints at the Houston Chronicle, Argus, Forbes and the Houston Business Journal.

Cook has covered several financial beats as a reporter, including energy, technology, real estate, healthcare and the economy. For the past 15 years as an editor, she has run teams of reporters breaking news and producing scoops of insight on topics as diverse as global energy and economic development to how women are re-evaluating what they want in a career—and in life.

Cook was on the coverage team of the Houston Chronicle that was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for breaking news reporting in 2009.
