
The Wall Street Journal has hired James Romoser to cover the Supreme Court.
He has spent the past two-plus years as Politico’s legal editor. Romoser joined Politico in March 2023 after serving as the editor of SCOTUSblog.
Romoser also wrote a weekly legal affairs column for National Journal. He attended law school at Georgetown and practiced First Amendment litigation for two years in Washington, D.C. In addition to his brief career as a lawyer, he has an extensive background in journalism, including as an associate editor and legal affairs reporter for Inside Health Policy.
His first journalism job was as a county government reporter in North Carolina, where he where he covered Davie County, Forsyth County, and Yadkin County for the Winston-Salem Journal.
