Meredith Klein of Meredith and the Media interviewed Business Insider senior media correspondent Lucia Moses about her coverage.

Business Insider has gone big on the chief marketing officer audience, from Lara O’Reilly’s CMO Insider newsletter and vodcast to social video, live events, roundtables, and dinners. Why is the CMO such an important audience for BI right now, and what else can we expect from the franchise and your reporting on the beat?

  • We’ve always wanted to do more with our CMO coverage. We have done these lists over the years, the Most Innovative CMOs. Everybody has an ad strategy, and with streamers going increasingly to paywall, ad-supported, and even free ad-supported tiers, you’re going to see even more places for advertising to drive these huge businesses.
  • It’s following the money, and these companies are also, in turn, driving culture. One of the big things I’ve been writing about for the past two years is the intersection of brands and entertainment. They’re making entertainment.
