Bill Warren, the founding editor of Orlando Business Journal, passed away March 26 at age 68.
Managing editor Susan Lundine writes, “He spent 10 years as a business journalist and editor for several prominent news organizations in Tampa and Jacksonville, and then came to Orlando in 1984 as the first editor and vice president of Orlando Business Journal.
“Orlando Business Journal‘s first edition was pieced together in a small apartment on Lake Eola while the team awaited the renovation of their first office. The apartment belonged to a friend of Warren. The friend, who was an Orlando Sentinel reporter, was working out of town at the time.
“‘The Orlando Business Journal team is saddened to hear of Bill’s passing,’ said OBJ Market President and Publisher Anne-Marie Hayward. ‘We are forever grateful for his contributions to the OBJ, which helped pave the way for 40 years of success for the organization and for business news reporting in the Central Florida region.'”
