Gregorio Sorgi, a reporter for Politico covering the European Union economy, is joining its finance team.
Prior to moving to Politico he served for two years as a press officer at the first-ever EU Delegation to the UK, starting in the immediate aftermath of Brexit. He made his first steps into journalism as a London-based reporter for the Italian daily Il Foglio, HuffPost and other outlets for which he covered the 2019 Election, Boris Johnson’s premiership and the pandemic. His work also appeared in the Spectator, New Statesman and Tablet.
He grew up in Rome, Italy, and studied at University College London, London School of Economics and obtained an NCTJ qualification at the Press Association’s training school.
He is fluent in Italian and English and speaks French.
