The Capitol Forum announced Tuesday that Nate Soderstrom will rejoin the company as senior editor and general counsel.
Soderstrom will oversee the company’s legal activities and contribute to the publication’s investigative coverage of competition policy, merger enforcement, and other regulatory developments shaping corporate strategy and market dynamics.
From 2022 to 2025, he served in the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition, where he held senior leadership roles including special counsel for merger analysis, acting deputy director, and most recently, associate director for merger analysis.
“Nate’s return significantly strengthens our antitrust product,” said Teddy Downey, executive editor and CEO of The Capitol Forum. “His leadership at the FTC and longstanding commitment to high-impact reporting make him uniquely qualified to provide our subscribers with insight they simply can’t get anywhere else.”
Prior to his time at the FTC, Soderstrom spent nearly a decade at The Capitol Forum, helping establish the publication’s reputation for investigative antitrust coverage.
Earlier in his career, he practiced antitrust law at an international law firm, advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, complex litigation, and government investigations across sectors including computer software, medical products, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, financial products, semiconductors, and telecommunications.
