
Vishal Persaud, a senior editor overseeing startups and venture capital coverage at Business Insider, was among the layoffs.
He had been with the company since April 2021.
“I am fortunate to have worked and collaborated with some of the industry’s best and brightest over the past four years,” he wrote on LinkedIn. “I also got the chance to report and write again, something I hadn’t done in a long time.”
Persaud has been editor of venture capital and technology at Pitchbook Data before joining Business Insider. From December 2015 to April 2020, he worked at Bloomberg News as a breaking news editor.
He also worked at Dataminr as a domain expert.
Persuad holds a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and a master’s degree in journalism from CUNY.
