Hiten Samtani has been promoted to senior vice president of content at real estate news company The Real Deal.
It’s a broad editorial leadership role overseeing all content offerings, from the newsroom to its flagship magazine, subscriber-focused journalism, live events, video and training for reporters and editors.
“One of the parts of my new job I’m most excited about is developing IP from our storytelling, taking our best journalism and coming up with scripted TV, film treatments, podcasts, books, etc.,” said Samtani. “We recently released our first narrative journalism book, on the blood sport of New York real estate, and are shopping it around to the studios.”
Samtani joined The Real Deal at the end of 2012 shortly after graduating from Columbia Journalism School, and has worn nearly every editorial hat, from reporter to managing editor to editor-at-large while he worked on the book.
He most recently was associate publisher and editorial director.
