Tell us about your journalism background. My interest in journalism began my senior year at Eastview High School in my broadcast news class, where I discovered my enjoyment in sharing engaging stories. I ended up pursuing journalism at the University of Minnesota through the Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication. During my years at the university, I interned at the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the Star Tribune (on the business desk) and the Centre for Investigative Journalism while studying abroad in London. I also worked as a reporter for the Minnesota Daily, largely covering business and housing.
After graduating in 2020 (during the early months of the pandemic), I interned for the Business Journal, mostly covering commercial real estate. I spent the next two years as community editor for the Edina Sun Current, covering anything of importance to the community, from news about the school district to development proposals to municipal policy changes.
