Former CNET reporter Laura Hautala has become the opinion editor at The News Tribune in Tacoma, Washington.
She was with CNET for nearly eight years, most recently covering Amazon and e-commerce with in-depth investigations, spot features and breaking news. Before that, she covers cybersecurity and privacy.
She has been freelancing for the past two years covering climate science and technology.
Hautala also wrote about labor and employment law for the Daily Journal from San Francisco.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s College and a mater’s degree from Cal-Berkeley.
