FT reporter McCormick expanding his beat

Myles McCormick

Financial Times reporter Myles McCormick is expanding his beat beyond energy to include the wider corporate, economic and political scene in Texas.

He is now based in Houston.

McCormick has been covering energy since 2020 and previously covered breaking news for the FT.

Prior to joining FT, McCormick was working as a freelance reporter. Before that, he was a market reporter at Fastmarkets covering commodity markets. He has also interned at the U.S. Commercial Service and at Euromoney Institutional Investor.

He was also a reporter at The University Times.

McCormick is a B.A. in politics and economics and a MSc. in international management from Trinity College.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
