Nancy Luna, the restaurants reporter at Business Insider, was among those laid off by the news organization.
Luna has been with the retail team at Business Insider since 2020.
She previously worked for more than two years as a senior editor and tech editor for Nation’s Restaurant News, the industry’s leading and independent trade publication. She created the Tech Tracker column so she could highlight disruptive technologies impacting the industry. That expert knowledge made her well positioned to cover the acceleration of technology during the pandemic.
At the Orange County Register, Luna spent 13 years writing about the food and beverage industries. She went behind the scenes reporting on brands including Domino’s, In-N-Out, McDonald’s, Subway, Burger King, Jack in the Box, Carl’s Jr. and Five Guys.
She is a graduate of Cal State-Fullerton.
