Daniel Cancel has been named Miami bureau chief of Bloomberg News.
He has worked for Bloomberg for more than 17 years, including stints as the Sao Paulo bureau chief and Caracas bureau chief. He was also managing editor for Latin America and a senior reporter.
Cancel previously worked as a freelance journalist in Caracas during which time he worked at the Daily Journal and helped report stories for The Guardian, The New York Times, and the Christian Science Monitor .
He is a graduate of New York University.
