Bill Koenig, a business journalist with more than 43 years of experience, has announced his retirement.
He wrote on LinkedIn:
“Personal announcement: I am retiring at the end of this week from SME. It has been almost nine years. This will conclude a professional career of more than 43 years. I may be doing some freelance work in the future. I am working on that.”
Previously, Koenig worked at Bloomberg for more than 12 years. There, he covered the automobile industry, helped edit and manage operation of Bloomberg speed desk and helped lead coverage of U.S. automotive industry as deputy U.S. autos team leader.
He also covered business, including the auto industry, manufacturing and banking at the Indianapolis Star, where he also served as a statehouse reporter.
Koenig graduated from Indiana University Bloomington.
