The Allbritton Journalism Institute has hired Tara Golshan as a senior editor and Byron Tau as a reporter for the institute’s non-profit publication set to launch this fall.
Golshan will join from Vanity Fair, where she helped helm business, tech and politics coverage as a senior editor for ‘The Hive’ and the magazine. She also worked as a policy and politics reporter at HuffPost. There, she covered the 2020 election and COVID-19 relief legislation.
She has also worked at Vox on the congressional team.
Golshan graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Tau joins from The Wall Street Journal, where he covered law, accountability and investigations. He also covered the 2016 presidential campaign, intelligence, justice and national security. He was also an editorial assistant and reporter at Politico, where he covered national politics, the 2012 presidential campaign and the White House.
There, Tau also co-wrote and edited the “44” blog, which chronicled daily and sometimes minute-by-minute developments during the Obama administration. He also served as a lobbying correspondent, writing “Influence,” a daily email newsletter and print column on K Street.
Tau has degrees from McGill University and Georgetown University.
