The State Journal in Frankfort, Ken. has appointed Kelly McKinney to cover local government, the Frankfort Plant Board and Kentucky State University.
McKinney has worked in Kentucky as an editor at Landmark Community Newspapers and as a staff writer at Community Newspaper Holdings. She also covered local government for Kentucky paper The Jessamine Journal.
McKinney has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Eastern Kentucky University.
