David Cruz has joined The New York Daily News as a politics editor. Previously, he oversaw political coverage for Gothamist and WNYC (owned by New York Public Radio) as a people and power desk editor.
Cruz worked on the general assignment desk as a news editor and served as interim people and power desk editor at Gothamist.com. He was a fellow at National Press Foundation and contributed to City & State.
Cruz has a B.A. in communication from Iona University in New York.
