MSNBC is set to debut a live events brand “MSNBC Live” next year. The brand will combine live interviews, panel discussions, forums and other events that will feature MSNBC anchors.
Luke Russert has been selected to lead the effort in the capacity of host and creative director.
Previously, Russert served as an anchor and correspondent at MSNBC and NBC News from 2008-2016.
Russert said:
“At these events MSNBC regulars will be talking with some of America’s leading thinkers. It is our hope we can advance important dialogue and reach a measure of understanding as well as remember what makes America great — its unity in diversity and commitment to democratic ideals.
“I want people to leave better informed and inspired to promote positive action.”
Russert is the son of the late Tim Russert, a celebrated newsman, and Maureen Orth, a special correspondent for Vanity Fair. Read more here.
