Lancaster TV station names Smith news anchor and reporter

Jay Scott Smith

Jay Scott Smith has joined NBC affiliate WGAL-TV Ch. 8 in Lancaster, Pa. as a news anchor and reporter. Before this, he was a news reporter at WPHL-TV Ch. 17, Philadelphia’s CW Plus outlet.

Previously, Smith held the posts of TV news producer at News 12 New Jersey and the posts of afternoon news anchor, reporter and host at KYW-FM 103.9 in Philadelphia. He was also a reporter at TheGrio, where he covered news affecting the African-American community.

He has also worked as a reporter, anchor and producer at WHYY-FM 90.9 in Philadelphia, and was a staff reporter at Asbury Park Press. He was also a Lansing city writer and high school sports reporter at MLive Media Group and contributed to Newsweek and The Daily Beast.

She was also a sports writer at The Detroit News. He interned at Fox Television Stations.

Smith has a B.A. in communication and media studies from Michigan State University and an M.A. in journalism from Wayne State University in Detroit.
