The Los Angeles Times has tapped Maira Garcia to serve as a television editor. In her new role, she will edit the Times’ television coverage and work with deputy editor Matt Brennan.
Garcia joined from The New York Times, where she worked for more than 10 years, recently as assistant editor for audience. Before that, she was digital news editor for culture.
She was also a social media editor at the Austin American-Statesman.
Garcia has a B.A. and M.A. from Texas State University.
