LA Times announces three new staff updates

Seema Mehta

Seema Mehta, a staff writer at Los Angeles Times will now be covering state politics and statewide races, in coordination with the Sacramento bureau. She will also be focusing on the intersection of federal politics and policy from a California perspective.

Mehta has been at the Times since 1998. Before that, she was an intern at The Washington Post. She was also a Knight-Wallace fellow at the University of Michigan.

Mehta is a graduate of Syracuse University.

Millie Quan will be working on enterprise projects across the newsroom while managing a team of national and state political reporters and columnists. Quan has been with the Times since 1998, joining as an assignment editor, business.

Matt Pearce, most recently working on the politics team at the Times, has joined Calendar to cover internet culture and podcasting. Pearce has been with the paper for more than 8 years now, and has also served as a national reporter on the national desk.

Pearce is a B.A. in English language and literature and a M.A. in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
