David D. Kirkpatrick, a veteran of The New York Times, has left after 22 years to join The New Yorker. Kirkpatrick was an investigative reporter at the Times and part of the team that won a Pulitzer Prize in 2020 for international reporting.
He also served as Cairo bureau chief, Washington correspondent and national correspondent. Previously, Kirkpatrick was a fact checker for The New Yorker, a reporter at The Wall Street Journal and contributor to New York Magazine.
