Steven Ginsberg, managing editor at The Washington Post, is leaving to join The Athletic in a top editorial role, according to Semafor’s Max Tani.
Ginsberg is a veteran Washington Post journalist, having been with the outlet for more than 27 years. He lost out last year to Sally Buzbee in his bid to become the Post’s executive editor.
Ginsberg has held the posts of copy aide, news aide, business reporter, local government reporter, regional transportation reporter, transportation editor, deputy national politics editor, senior politics editor and national editor.
Ginsberg graduated from the University of Virginia.
