The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has hired a former intern, Tamia Fowlkes, as a public investigative reporter.
In her new role, Fowlkes will cover education, barriers to housing, health and safety violations, business malpractice and harassment and climate and environmental issues.
Previously, she was a general assignment reporting intern at The Washington Post. She interned at and then served as a digital producer at Gannett | USA Today Network. She interned at MSNBC, the Journal Sentinel and Wisconsin State Journal.
Fowlkes has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
