Entertainment Weekly editor-in-chief Mary Margaret will be leaving, and she will be replaced by Entertainment Weekly executive editor Patrick Gomez, who has been promoted to general manager.
Margaret will continue to serve as editor-in-chief until Gomez begins his new role on June 1.
Prior to joining Entertainment Weekly, Gomez was editor-in-chief of The A.V. Club and has worked for a decade at EW’s sister publication, People. He has also previously worked at EW from January 2018 to December 2019 as a senior editor.
Gomez has a B.A. in broadcast journalism from the University of Southern California.
Prior to Entertainment Weekly, Margaret worked at HubSpot, a sales-software platform. She has also led product content strategy teams for Facebook. She was also an editorial director at Roku and has served in journalistic positions at People and Newsweek.
Margaret graduated from Colgate University.
