Sasha Chavkin will join The Examination, a nonprofit covering global health issues, as a senior reporter covering the food industry. The Examination is a nonprofit news outlet reporting on global public health
Chavkin will begin in January. He wrote on X/Twitter:

Since June 2023, he has worked as a contracted correspondent. He investigated tropical deforestation for the Associated Press, was named a Pulitzer Center as a fellow and reported for the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists in Washington, D.C.
Chavkin’s work has also appeared in the Columbia Journalism Review at Columbia University; he interned at ProPublica.
Chavkin has a B.A. from Wesleyan University in Connecticut. She has a master’s degree from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs, and another master’s degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
