Sara Hussein, deputy bureau chief in the AFP’s Tokyo bureau, has been appointed its future of the planet reporter. She will be based in Bangkok.
In her new role, Hussein will cover all things climate and science. She has been with the AFP for more than 13 years.
Previously, she held the posts of editor in the Washington regional headquarters, Israel/Palestinian territories reporter in the Jerusalem bureau, Lebanon/Syria reporter in the Beirut bureau, deputy news editor in the Tokyo bureau and science correspondent.
Hussein has a B.A. from the American University in Cairo and a M.A. from the University of Chicago.
