The Washington Post will open a new bureau in Kyiv, with Isabelle Khurshudyan as Ukraine bureau chief and Max Bearak as chief Ukraine correspondent.
Formerly a Moscow correspondent, Khurshudyan has reported from Ukraine since January. Bearak, a former Nairobi bureau chief, has reported in Ukraine for two months.
Both Khurshudyan and Bearak will steer a team consisting of Ukraine-based contributing reporter David Stern and rotating correspondents, photographers and video journalists.
