The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has hired Katherine Landergan as a health and safety net reporter. In her new role, she will cover child protective services, the foster care system, children with special needs, homelessness, and aging and senior issues.
Her beat also includes food assistance programs, mental health and disability programs and poverty programs.
Landergan joins from Politico, where she worked as a statehouse reporter and New Jersey bureau chief. She was a higher education reporter and a correspondent covering business higher education, regional news, crime and more at The Boston Globe.
She was a correspondent at The Newburyport Daily News, a daily in Essex County, Mass.
Landergan has a master’s degree from City, University of London.
