NY1 News has promoted Mariya Abedi to executive producer of its political unit. Previously, she was a senior political producer.
Prior to joining NY1 News, she was a content desk editor, NBC New York. She was also a news intern and then served as a news assistant at WPIX-TV Ch. 11, a CW-affiliated and Nexstar Media Group-operated station in New York.
Abedi has a B.A. in journalism, Middle Eastern studies and business from New York University.
