The Houston Business Journal economic development reporter Shafaq Patel is leaving to help start a Houston newsletter for Axios.
She previously worked for the Business Journal’s parent company, the American City Business Journals, as a diversity, equity and inclusion reporter.
At Emerson College in Boston, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Journalism, she served as creative director, managing editor and blog director at the university’s magazine.
Patel also interned at the Boston Business Journal.
