Yahoo Finance seeks on-air host and reporter

Yahoo Finance, the best-known and most-respected brand in online business news and the most-visited business site online. Our video programs are industry leaders, averaging tens of millions video streams per month. In many metrics, our traffic outperforms the most popular business news shows on broadcast and cable TV.

Yahoo is looking for a full time on-air host and reporter for its business and finance video team. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and understanding of financial news, and at least 5 years’ experience on-air, covering business news and breaking news. The person in this position will be representing Yahoo Finance.

Your Day

  • Host live daily programs
  • Contribute to Yahoo Finance daily programming which includes interview segments in the business and investing categories.
  • Provide original reporting for Yahoo Finance and offer special contributions to Yahoo News and Yahoo Digital Magazines.
  • Write articles that accompany video stories
  • Cover live breaking news stories
  • Occasional travel for field shoots
  • Keeping up to date on current events in the world of business and financial news

You Must Have

  • 5+ years’ experience covering business and financial news
  • The ability to ad-lib and improvise effortlessly in various types of on-air situations
  • Must work well under pressure with an ability to meet deadlines
  • Understanding of the business of original content on the web
  • Versatility and the ability to adapt to a multitude of different circumstances with limited resources
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • BA/BS degree; degree in journalism or related field preferred
  • Responsible, detail-oriented and organized
  • Must be willing to submit to a background check
