The Wall Street Journal is seeking a news reporter to cover venture capital and startups, based in the San Francisco bureau.
The reporter’s beat focus will be on breaking news on the next Slack or Palantir and will require an industry knowledge and contacts in enterprise computing. Primarily reporting on Silicon Valley startups, we place an emphasis on getting the news and analysis first, applying a hard-eyed look to technology companies.
The reporter will also be able to crunch numbers from our venture-capital database to write analytical stories. The ideal candidate will be able to weed through the nonsense to explain complex technologies with finesse and show broader industry context in reporting for both daily and feature stories.
Applications should include a resume, cover letter, and up to five published clips.
